CEP Alignment and Programming

As an educational leader, it's important to be proactive in programing, looking for solutions to problems likely to arise rather than reacting to them as they occur.  Additionally, as finding the right employee can have powerful, long-lasting impacts, I have included some staffing resources I took part in developing.

Problem of Practice Alignment to CEP and District Goals

Regents

As an Advanced Regents High School, we have taken great effort to streamline students to success on standardize tests. Below are a few artifacts showing how I have contributed towards this effort.

  • ELA Regents Tracker  This interactive spreadsheets allows ELA teachers to keep track of which portions of past ELA Regents they have assigned as assessments, so as to eliminate redundancy and allow students the maximum test practice.

  • Lexile Level Range Map  To help prevent stagnation in the Lexile growth of students, I created this resource for teachers of different levels of ENL proficiency to see what Lexile level is appropriate for their ELLs, thus ensuring a vertically integrated system that steadily moves students up in proficiency, culminating in readiness for the ELA Regents.

The Hiring Team

Over the course of my time at Emma Lazarus High School I have helped facilitate the hiring team, which collaborated to implement the following items.

  • Interview Questions  These questions were strategically designed to find out the most useful and relevant information from candidates, which included how they think about curricular planning, their familiarity with technology, use of data to inform instruction, and classroom management proficiency.
